Candidates who reside within 50 miles of an office location (West Bend, Madison, Appleton) will be offered a hybrid work schedule. Candidates who are fully remote (beyond 50 miles) may occasionally be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training, and corporate events. Dependent on location and applicable experience this position offers a fully remote or hybrid office schedule.The hiring team handles primarily MN & IA workers compensation claims as well as SD & WI. While remote associate preference would reside within one of these states, others may be considered.Responsibilities & Qualifications As a Workers Compensation Claims Representative, you will manage claims of varying complexity using current claim technology and best practices. You will conduct thorough investigations to determine coverage, evaluate benefits, and assess compensability. You will negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneys while maintaining proactive file management, accurate reserving, and adherence to audit and regulatory standards. This role collaborates closely with internal partners and external stakeholders, with the scope of responsibility increasing with experience level.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and resolve claims within assigned authorityDetermine coverage and liabilityNegotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneysMaintain accurate documentation and reservingCommunicate promptly and professionally with all stakeholdersCollaborate with internal teams and external partnersAdhere to audit and compliance standardsParticipate in training and team initiativesPreferred Experience and SkillsPrior experience managing claims in Minnesota and/or IowaProficiency with computers and current claim technologyInterpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with customer-focused professionalismNegotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skillsTime management and organizational discipline with proactive file handlingIndependent decision-making ability and results orientationTechnical expertise in coverage analysis, compensability, and evaluation of claimsPreferred Education and TrainingBachelor's degree in Business, Insurance or related fieldAssociate in General Insurance (AINS) designationAssociate in Claims (AIC) designationCPCU coursework or other continuing educationLicensure in jurisdictions where requiredSalary Statement The salary range for this position is $67,000 - $110,000. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
