As a Registered Home Infusion Nurse, you will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients in their homes. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans and administering intravenous medications and treatments. You will also be responsible for educating patients and their families about home care, medications, and treatments. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a dedication to providing the highest quality of care. To learn about our company and services, please visit us at PromptCare In-home Respiratory and InfusionReports to: Nurse ManagerJob Type: PRN Infusion Nurse (Per Diem)Location: Lafayette, LARequirementsMust be a Registered Nurse in the state inquiring of employment and in good standingMust have a valid driver’s license and automobile insuranceProfessional Liability InsuranceCPR CertificationKnowledge of PIV, Mid-Line, PICC Line, Tunneled Catheters, and PortsAt least 2 years’ experience as a home infusion nurse, or equivalent experience working in another field-based home nursing organization, is requiredED experience preferredDemonstrated proficiency in IV insertion, vascular access devices, and infusion pumpsSpecific training and/or certification as a heart failure nurse is highly desirableStrong pediatric peripheral IV skills preferredCertified Nurse Infusionist (CRNI) preferredExperience with the following IV therapies is a major advantage: inotropes, intravenous immunoglobulin, and Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)Job Responsibilities, Included But Not Limited ToConducts initial nursing assessments for home infusion therapyTrains patients/caregivers on procedures and equipmentDevelop and revises care plans with the healthcare teamVisits patients, documents compliance, and provides direct careAssuming on-call duties and managing patient suppliesCoordinates care with other agencies and counsels patients on therapyCollaborate with Pharmacists for therapy adjustmentsPlans efficient daily routes and submits nursing notes promptlyTriages field problems and adheres to SOPs and regulationsDelivers "white glove" service and submits travel expense reportsProjects a positive attitude and participates in employee activitiesProvides nursing services as requested, including weekends and eveningsPerforms other duties as assignedWeekend and callPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing job duties, the employee is frequently required to communicate verbally and listen attentively.
