Instructor - Pharmacy Law

Position OverviewThe University of Kansas, School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacy Practice, is seeking candidates for a one semester appointment as an instructor for the Spring, 2027 semester. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the Pharmacy Law course for PharmD students and preparing students for the Uniform Multistate Jurisprudence Exam (UMPJE) and practice in the state of Kansas.Job responsibilities will include teaching Pharmacy Law including but not limited to: developing and facilitating educational experiences for this didactic class, as well as student assessment for this portion of the course via exams, quizzes, assignments, or other appropriate measures of student achievement. The successful candidate will also be expected to provide office hours for students in the course, either in-person or online, and provide a UMPJE preparation review session at the end of the semester for graduating students and early test-takers.Preferred candidates will have experience and training in Pharmacy Law as well as Pharmacy. Verbal and written communication skills must be good. Other helpful skills and experiences include but are not limited to: teaching undergraduate Pharmacy (PharmD) students.This position is a union covered position within the collective bargaining unit represented by United Academics of Kansas University (UAKU). UAKU is the exclusive bargaining representative for the bargaining unit.The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. prior to the start date of the position.Job Description100% Teaching: The position will be responsible for the instruction, assessment, and completion of the PHPR 621, Pharmacy Law course in the Pharmacy School curriculum for the Pharm.D. program.Required QualificationsA terminal degree in Pharmacy, Law, or another related field (Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited school or for pre-2000 graduates, a BS in Pharmacy degree is considered terminal; for Law, a JD degree).Specialized training and/or equivalent experience in pharmacy law.Demonstrated ability to teach professional students as evidenced by past experience in developing presentations and/or previous teaching experience and demonstrated ability to plan and present a topic during the interview process.
