Position: Foundry Design Engineer Location: Hodges, SC Duration: 12 months contract with possible extension Position's Contributions to Work Group: Design foundry tooling in Creo software using standards in place and best practices for No-bake molding process with the objective to improve quality and reduce lead time on tooling construction Typical task breakdown: RFQ tooling, Design New Pattern Tooling, resolve casting issues, Re-gate, Simulate, all other tasks as needed. Top 3 Skills: Foundry Engineer Experience: (Tools Quotation, Casting Scrap defects analysis & resolution, Foundry process knowledge, no-bake process, cold box process)Foundry tooling Design Experience: (Pattern and core boxes, Complex modeling, intuitive knowledge of P/L, offsets, clearances, layout in tool build, no-bake process, cold box process)Creo modeling and flow simulation analysis using SolidCast Additional Technical Skills: (Required)Strong CAD skills (Creo prefers).Machining print reading and geometric tolerance understandingCasting simulation experiences (SolidCast prefers) (Desired) CNC milling knowledge Soft Skills: (Required)Able to work with and direct suppliers on Tooling Build ProjectsCommunicate and work well with all levels of the facility.
