From concept design to low-volume production, the organization supports leading OEM and next-generation mobility clients with fast, agile, and technically advanced solutions.The Client operates in a dynamic, small-team environment where accountability, collaboration, and technical understanding drive success.Position OverviewThe Client is seeking a detail-driven Purchasing Manager with strong experience in quoting design projects and managing supply chain operations within technical or automotive manufacturing environments.This role requires technical understanding, cost awareness, and strong supplier negotiation skills to ensure prototype and low-volume programs are delivered on time and within budget. The ideal candidate thrives in a small to mid-sized company environment and is looking to grow long-term with an innovative engineering organization.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and execute the full purchasing cycle for prototype and low-volume EV/BMS manufacturing projectsPrepare and analyze RFQs and design quotations based on engineering drawings and customer requirementsCollaborate closely with engineering, design, and production teams to forecast material and component needsIdentify, qualify, and manage suppliers for electrical, mechanical, machined, and fabricated componentsNegotiate pricing, manage purchase orders, track lead times, and optimize costsMonitor procurement schedules, vendor performance, and inventory levels to meet aggressive prototype timelinesEnsure proper documentation, vendor compliance, and quality standards are maintainedEvaluate logistics strategies and determine optimal sourcing channels for specialized componentsMust-Have QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred)5–10 years of purchasing experience within a technical manufacturing company or automotive supplierStrong experience preparing accurate design-based quotationsSolid understanding of prototype production environments, EV systems, or Battery Management Systems (BMS)Experience sourcing specialized mechanical and electrical componentsProficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skillsBackground working in small or mid-sized business environments (not heavily process-driven large corporations)Desire to grow long-term with a scaling engineering organizationNice-to-Have QualificationsExperience with wiring harnesses, machined parts, or electrical assembliesFamiliarity with supply chain risk management and vendor developmentAutomotive Tier supplier experienceCompensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 (based on experience)Competitive benefits packageInnovative, fast-paced engineering environmentOpportunity to work on cutting-edge EV and energy storage technologiesLong-term growth opportunity within an expanding organization
