Senior Systems Engineer Senior Systems EngineerPosition Type: ContractWork Arrangement: OnsitePay Rate: $50–$60/hr, depending on experienceWork Hours: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (Flexible)Contract Duration: Potential renewal into 2027 based on performance and business needInterview Process: 2 rounds of virtual interviewsPosition OverviewThis is an onsite opportunity for a motivated, hands-on Senior Systems Engineer with experience working with complex electro-mechanical systems and devices. The ideal candidate will have strong systems engineering, testing, troubleshooting, data analysis, and technical documentation skills.The engineer will apply intensive and diversified knowledge of design principles, practices, and implementation to complex systems and assignments. Responsibilities include design concept generation, participation in design reviews, development and testing against design specifications, reliability testing, and assessment of system interactions.The role requires independent decision-making and hands-on involvement in developing manufacturing processes, troubleshooting issues, determining root causes, and identifying appropriate engineering solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop test methods, including Design of Experiments (DoE), and perform data analysis using Python. Collect and analyze digital outputs from sensors. Develop and maintain test beds for complex systems and devices. Apply strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills to identify and resolve system issues. Develop comprehensive testing plans and test protocols. Execute hands-on testing protocols and evaluate system performance against requirements and specifications. Author detailed technical reports, testing documentation, and protocols. Manage the defect lifecycle, including defect collection, documentation, tracking, and summarization for development partners. Participate in design reviews and contribute to design concept development. Support reliability testing and assessment of system interactions. Assist with manufacturing process development and troubleshooting activities. Make independent engineering decisions and recommend appropriate solutions. Must-Have SkillsStrong experience with risk and requirements management. Excellent technical writing skills, including protocols, test plans, and technical reports. Demonstrated experience working with complex systems. Hands-on experience with testing, troubleshooting, and system-level analysis. Experience with data analysis and Python coding capability. Experience working with electro-mechanical devices or systems. Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering; Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical, or Software Engineering preferred. 8+ years of professional engineering experience. Experience working in an FDA- or FAA-regulated environment is strongly preferred. Experience in the medical device industry is highly desirable. Preferred BackgroundSystems engineering experience involving electro-mechanical products or devices. Medical device, aerospace, or other highly regulated industry experience. Experience with sensor data, test instrumentation, and test-bed development. Strong understanding of reliability testing and system-level verification. Experience managing defects and collaborating with external development partners. Interview ProcessVirtual interviews will be conducted. Two rounds of interviews are expected. Work ScheduleStandard working hours are 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. The schedule is flexible and can be discussed with the RRP after the candidate is selected.
