Financial Controller

Job description:The Client Controller will have a passion to serve Christian schools and the Finance Team by providing financial leadership over the operational accounting and financial reporting functions for designated clients. This position will lead a team of individuals performing the transactional aspects of accounting including accounts payable, payroll, expense reimbursement, credit cards, billing, collections, account reconciliation, banking/cash management, financial close, financial reporting, and compliance.Responsibilities:Provide leadership to operational Finance function and client organization(s) assignedPerform month end close with appropriate review of account activity to ensure accuracy and completenessComplete monthly variance analysis comparing budget to actuals with explanations and recommendations for enhancedConduct quarterly financial touch base sessions with key leadership stakeholders who have budgetary responsibilityPerform near-term cashflow forecast and manage cash balances to support the working capital needs of the organizationHandle sensitive communications with customers and vendors via phone, email, and in-personPerform systems / process evaluation, recommend and implement enhancements where appropriate to continually improve departmental efficiency and internal controlPrepare financial reports as requestedEnsure compliance with all local, state, and federal agencies impacting the organizationAssist CFO with budget preparation, board reporting, and forecasting as neededRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s Preferred)Certified Public Accountant (CPA)At least five (5) years accounting management experienceAble to work independently in a collaborative environmentStrong process and systems skills including Microsoft ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCustomer service mentality with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to multi-task and manage time effectivelyAttention to detailAligned to the Mission of Christian educationBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceDisability insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible scheduleFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceExperience:Accounting: 5 years (Preferred)License/Certification:CPA (Preferred)Ability to Commute:Work Location: Hybrid remote in Phoenix, AZ 85004
