Created as a strategic extension of Unity Investments, Unity Tax was established to address a persistent gap in the market: large accounting firms are often too rigid and expensive for emerging companies, while smaller firms frequently lack the technical expertise required to navigate complex startup issues, such as equity structuring, multi-state compliance, R&D tax credits, QSBS planning, and investor-related tax matters. About the RoleWe are seeking an ambitious, highly driven Tax Customer Acquisition Manager with a proven track record in customer acquisition and business development. This is a high-upside, performance-driven role designed for an entrepreneurial sales professional or growth marketer.This position will start as a commission-based contract role with a clear, direct path to transition into a permanent, Full-Time role based on strong sales lead generation and performance.You will work independently to drive the growth of our specialized business services by identifying high-value opportunities, building a powerful network of referral partners, and expanding our digital and community footprint. If you are a natural closer who wants control over your schedule, unlimited earning potential, and the opportunity to earn a permanent seat at a fast-growing firm, this position offers an exceptional launchpad.ResponsibilitiesClient Acquisition: Proactively identify and pitch to SME owners, founders, and stakeholders across California to promote our accounting, fractional CFO, and tax planning/compliance services.COI Network Building: Establish and maintain strategic referral relationships with Centers of Influence (COIs), including Corporate Attorneys, Commercial Real Estate Agents, Mortgage Brokers, and Business Brokers who can introduce high-value SME clients.B2B Networking & Community Engagement: Represent the firm at local Chambers of Commerce, industry trade shows, Chinese-American business associations, and entrepreneur networks to generate organic leads.Pipeline Management: Manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact and discovery meetings to coordinating with our internal CPA/Tax team for technical scoping and closing the deal.Market Intelligence: Stay informed about general business trends and pain points within the California SME landscape to help refine our firm’s service offerings and marketing messages.Digital Content Strategy & Planning: Develop a content calendar focused on SME tax pain points (e.g., Form 1099-NEC compliance, multi-state sales tax, California tax credits, real estate structure optimization).Multi-Platform Promotion: Repurpose long-form video content into short-form media (Shorts, Reels) and manage our professional presence on LinkedIn, as well as relevant cultural platforms (e.g., WeChat Channels, Xiaohongshu) to target cross-border and Asian-American entrepreneurs.Qualifications3–5 years of experience in B2B business development, sales, or agency-side digital marketing (experience within professional services, accounting, financial services, or wealth management is highly preferred).Proven track record of building and maintaining a professional referral network (COIs) and closing high-value contracts.An entrepreneurial mindset—you thrive on performance-based compensation and want to write your own paycheck.Ambitious self-starter who operates with zero micromanagement.Strong ethical standards and respect for client confidentiality.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual capability (English/Mandarin) is a major asset given our core community focus.Familiarity with digital content production pipelines (YouTube, short-form video) and cross-platform distribution.Thrives in fast-paced, scrappy, start-up environments.Compensation and StructureInitial Structure: 1099 / Independent Contractor position.Commission Structure: Highly competitive, uncapped commission structure with exceptional payout percentages on successfully closed and onboarded client contracts.The Growth Path: Proven track record of generating consistent, high-quality sales leads and revenue will result in an immediate offer for a permanent, Full-Time position complete with company benefits.To ApplySubmit your application here: https://airtable.com/appYS2v5pUxjEvm4S/pagvsR2Ty1Ljo1tTO/formOur Values Strong moral compass: Our commitment to a strong moral compass guides every decision and action we take.
