Facilities Manager

Our client, the U.S.’s largest commercial real estate services firm, has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Manager to oversee operations across a portfolio of sites in Columbus, OH. This full-time 1-year contract to hire role is ideal for a technically strong facilities professional with hands-on experience in building systems, proven leadership capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple sites and teams. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm.Job Description:• Oversee building operations and maintenance across three facilities within a local portfolio• Lead and manage on-site teams including Assistant Facilities Managers, Chief Engineers, and engineering staff• Provide technical oversight of building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and general infrastructure• Manage both hard and soft services, ensuring vendors meet performance expectations and service levels• Oversee asset management, preventive maintenance programs, and overall facility performance• Develop and manage site schedules, traveling between locations as needed to support operations• Lead emergency response processes and ensure proper protocols are followed across sites• Support engineering teams with troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and operational improvements• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and provide regular updates on facility performance• Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirementsMust Have Qualifications:• 3+ years of experience in facilities management or building operations• Strong technical background with hands-on experience in MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)• Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving operational performance• Strong understanding of building operations, maintenance programs, and vendor management• Ability to make sound decisions, take ownership, and operate independently• Strong communication and organizational skills• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or higher)Nice to Have Qualifications:• Facilities Management certifications such as FMP or similar• Strong electrical background• Experience managing multiple sites or a campus environment
