Employment Type:Full timeShift:12 Hour Day ShiftDescription:Position Purpose:At Johnson Memorial Hospital, the Registered Nurses (RN) in Geriatric Wellness unit specializes mental health care to elderly patients experiencing psychiatric conditions such as depression, anxiety, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. This role involves direct patient care, emotional support, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic and compassionate treatment.Please make an application promptly if you are a good match for this role due to high levels of interest.What you will do:Conduct mental health assessments and monitor psychiatric symptoms in elderly patients.Work closely with all physicians, psychiatrists, social workers, and therapist to develop and implement individualized care plans.Minimum Qualifications Required:Graduation from an accredited nursing schoolValid RN License in ConnecticutPreferred:Bachelor's degree in NursingThe ideal candidate will have one or more years of Psychiatric or Geriatric experience in an acute inpatient setting.BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)Position Highlights:Full Time: 36 hrs/week-Day ShiftRotating Every other Weekend/HolidayMinistry/Facility InformationJohnson Memorial Hospital and Home & Community Health Services provide a continuum of health care services to those living and working in north central Connecticut and western Massachusetts.
