Systems Administrator
Location: Tallahassee, FLJob Type: Contract / ConsultingPosition SummaryDefined Software Development is seeking experienced Systems Administrators for contract consulting opportunities in the Tallahassee area. Our consultants support government and enterprise technology projects across a variety of IT environments.The ideal candidate will have experience supporting, maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, operating systems, cloud environments, applications, and related technologies.Specific project assignments, requirements, and durations may vary based on client and project needs.ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise systems and infrastructure.Administer Windows and/or Linux server environments.Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, and health.Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and application-related issues.Perform system maintenance, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.Support server and infrastructure deployments.Assist with cloud infrastructure and migration initiatives.Maintain system configurations, documentation, procedures, and technical standards.Monitor and resolve system alerts, incidents, and service issues.Work with network, security, database, development, and application teams to resolve technical issues.Support backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities.Assist with system security and access-control requirements.Participate in infrastructure modernization and technology refresh projects.Use monitoring, ticketing, configuration-management, and systems-management tools.Provide technical recommendations related to infrastructure improvements.Required QualificationsBachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.3+ years of experience in systems administration or enterprise IT infrastructure.Experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux environments.Experience troubleshooting enterprise hardware, software, operating systems, and applications.Understanding of networking concepts, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Active Directory, and related technologies.Experience with system monitoring, maintenance, patching, and configuration management.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to document technical processes and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users.Preferred QualificationsExperience with one or more of the following:Microsoft Windows ServerActive DirectoryMicrosoft AzureAzure DevOpsMicrosoft 365PowerShellLinuxVMware or other virtualization technologiesSQL ServerCloud infrastructureNetworking and TCP/IPDNS / DHCPBackup and recovery technologiesConfiguration managementServiceNow or similar IT service-management platformsInfrastructure monitoring toolsCybersecurity and system hardeningEnterprise data center environmentsGovernment or public-sector IT environmentsDirect applicants only.
