Nursing Extern - Per Diem

Nursing Extern OpportunityPort Jefferson - IPU Unit Extern Opportunity! Nursing extern will assist with basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse while shadowing and observing daily patient care activities within the hospice unit. Participate in routine unit operations and gain exposure to care planning, treatment plans, and discharge processes while interacting with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to understand collaborative care delivery. Complete assigned tasks as directed by nursing staff, maintain professional behavior and communication, and adhere to infection prevention protocols including proper hand hygiene and standard precautions. Attend required orientation and training programs, participate in continuing education opportunities, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care that respects the cultural, spiritual, and individual needs of patients and their families. Education RequirementsCurrently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program Must have completed Nursing Fundamentals coursework SkillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team Demonstrated professionalism and accountability Ability to follow clinical instructions and procedures Salary RangeUSD $17.00 - USD $17.00 /Hr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
