Our Enterprise Integration Services (EIS) team manages and automates Thrivent’s API gateway and event streaming platform, ensuring security, scalability, and reliability. If you thrive on automation and eliminating manual work, you’ll fit right in. Key Responsibilities Architect, build, and enhance automation for API and event-streaming platforms. Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform on AWS. Implement observability and monitoring tools (Datadog or similar). Build automated testing strategies for infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. Collaborate with DevOps/DevSecOps teams to embed security into workflows. Optimize performance and scalability of Kafka, event-driven systems, and API gateways. Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and platform reliability improvements. Promote automation-first practices to eliminate manual operations. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles. Strong expertise with AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3) and Terraform. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, scripting (Python, Bash, or Go), and automation. Knowledge of Kafka, API gateways, and event-driven architecture. Experience with observability and monitoring (Datadog, Prometheus, or ELK). Understanding of DevSecOps principles and cloud security practices. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in computer science/engineering. Experience with Kubernetes (EKS/AKS) and serverless computing. Background in regulated industries (finance, insurance, healthcare). AWS or Terraform certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer). Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
