Career Welder, 2nd shift

Trinity Rail Maintenance Service, Inc is hiring a 2nd Shift Career Welder at our Shell Rock, IA plant!Our products are an integral part of the supply chain that helps fuel our lives and our economy. Over the last 85 years, Trinity Industries has grown to over 6,000 employees strong with the common purpose of Delivering Goods, For the Good of All.As a Welder at Trinity, you'll apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, automatic welding, and/or semi-automatic welding equipment. You will use jigs/holding fixtures to lay out pieces to be welded according to blueprints, layouts, schematics, or work orders and uses manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials. Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications and performs minor maintenance to equipment.What you'll do:Hand weld in all positions, fillet and groovePerform repairs to subassemblies for final productPerform oxy-fuel weldingPerform carbon arc weldingConduct one or two NDE testsFollow all safety rules and practicesMay be involved in safety committees or initiativesPerform other duties as assignedWhat you'll need:Minimum of 1 year of related experienceExperience with MIG and FCAW is requiredFCAW (2G, 3G & 4G)Ability to weld out of position (vertical & overhead)May require working above ground (15 ft or more)Must be able to climb ladders or stairs to reach objects and comfortable with heightsMay require working in narrow or confined work space for extended periods of timeTasks may require physical strength and dexterityMay require extensive kneeling, bending and standing for long periods of time
