Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionLCCU is hiring!Your ContributionThe Loan Closing & Post-Closing Specialist will be responsible for the preparation of Mortgage and Home Equity loan Packages. It will be the duty of the specialist to ensure that documents are provided to closing agents in a timely manner. The Specialist is also expected to ensure funding and distribution of closed loans are handled properly. The Specialist should have an understanding of Post-Closing a mortgage.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesProcess loan closing documents using the Loan Origination System. Communicate as well as ship documents through the secure website to closing attorneys in regard to loan closings. Review insurance, taxes and other documents to verify and address escrow related issues. Ensure Closing Disclosures are disclosed at least 3 days prior to closing. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Federal Regulations associated with Closing Disclosure settlement statements. Complete all specialized departmental task at a mastery level. Must be able to answer questions regarding loan closing documents and loan closing instructions. Take a leadership role in helping train and develop new employees and assist other employees with questions and issues. Must have broad knowledge of all closing documents and be able to answer questions. Maintain a broad knowledge of all tasks related to loan closing processing and procedures Monitor department’s email and distribute incoming loan documents to member’s loans. Maintain a strong knowledge of all Post-Closing Procedures and Tasks. Must be able to assist managers in resolving problems as well as handling uncommon situations. Must be able to understand title insurance policies and work with title companies to resolve issues. Must also be able to file Title Insurance Claims. Complete a final audit of all collateral loan documents, verifying accuracy and confirming compliance with Lending regulations and meeting underwriting requirements. Perform HMDA validation review and complete HMDA validation for Home Equity and First Mortgage Loans. Understand LCCU’s ATTY system and ensure attorneys return documents in a timely manner. Must be able to communicate with branch personnel as well as closing agents to ensure compliance with Credit Union Closing instructions. Must understand full knowledge of all loan closing processing procedures and process Must understand all mortgage documents and explain their purpose to others effectively. Review department reports and understand how to read for department use. Must have a comfort level with calling and handling phone calls; must be comfortable with speaking with attorneys on a day-to-day basis. Assist members, closing agents, and branch employees with inquiries via phone and email. Must be able to assist managers in resolving problems as well as handling uncommon situations. Coordinate with management to analyze workflow, develop departmental tasks, and update departmental procedures. Willing to assist in all areas of operations as needed. Other duties as assigned by management. RequirementsCurious about joining our LCCU team? Here’s what you’ll need to bring along:Minimum of two 3 to 5 years in Mortgage Lending (Branch or Operations) and Associate of Arts degree in Business, Economics, or related field is strongly preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of twelve (12) months of financial serves related experiences are required. Maintain knowledge of real estate lending products, policies, and guidelines. Meets compliance and regulatory standards in terms of loan closing. Demonstrate the ability to perform complex closing reviews of files assigned by management to ensure documentation is obtained and verified in accordance with Credit Union policy and guidelines. Must be professional and courteous in all interactions with members, closing agents and co-workers. Must be organized and detail oriented. Also, must be able to multi-task. Must be able to speak and write English fluently. Spanish preferred. Must meet all LCCU mandated education requirements. Must exhibit leadership skills and set the example for new employees and be comfortable in providing leadership in the absence of management. Must possess an independent and strong work ethic.
