Head of Enterprise Valuation

Position: Head of Enterprise ValuationLocation: Kansas City, MO (Relocation Provided)Our client is seeking an experienced actuarial leader to oversee enterprise valuation and financial reporting for life and annuity products. This role is designed for a proven actuarial manager who combines strong technical expertise with leadership capability, business judgment, and a strategic perspective on actuarial finance and enterprise reporting. Reporting directly to the Chief Actuary, this position will lead a team of 5+ actuarial professionals responsible for valuation, financial reporting, modeling, and actuarial analysis. The role will also partner closely with Finance and Investments leadership on ALM, capital analytics, forecasting, and enterprise financial initiatives.This is a highly visible leadership role with meaningful interaction across Finance, Investments, Risk, Operations, and executive leadership. The position offers significant opportunity for long-term growth and expanded enterprise leadership responsibility.ResponsibilitiesValuation & Financial ReportingLead quarter-end GAAP and Statutory valuation and financial reporting processes for life and annuity products.Oversee reserve adequacy, valuation methodologies, controls, and reporting governance.Support LDTI, PBR, and asset adequacy testing requirements.Ensure accuracy and integrity of actuarial models, assumptions, and financial reporting outputs.Modeling, Governance & TransformationLead ongoing enhancement of actuarial modeling capabilities.Strengthen model governance, controls, validation standards, and documentation.Drive automation and process improvement initiatives focused on scalability and reporting efficiency.Partner with IT and Data teams to improve actuarial infrastructure and reporting automation.Assumption Governance & Experience AnalysisLead actuarial experience studies and assumption governance processes.Monitor emerging experience and support assumption recommendations.Partner with Pricing, Risk, and Finance teams to ensure alignment across actuarial frameworks.Leadership & Enterprise PartnershipLead, mentor, and develop a team of 5+ actuarial associates and future leaders.Serve as a key actuarial advisor to Finance, Investments, Risk, and executive leadership.Support executive reporting, enterprise initiatives, and strategic planning discussions.Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing actuarial culture.QualificationsFellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).10-15 years of actuarial experience in valuation, financial reporting, or actuarial finance.Strong knowledge of GAAP, Statutory valuation, LDTI, and life/annuity products.Prior leadership experience managing actuarial teams and cross-functional initiatives.Strong communication, organizational, and executive presentation skills.
