Custom Sales Manager
DescriptionThe Custom Sales Manager supports the performance, development, and effectiveness of the brand’s Custom Styling team. Reporting to the Director of Custom, this role works closely with Custom Stylists to help implement approved selling strategies, support day-to-day sales activities, and ensure a consistent, high-quality client experience across custom sales channels.This role focuses on coaching, training coordination, and operational support for the Custom Styling team to help drive the growth of the custom apparel business. The Custom Sales Manager collaborates with Retail team & other cross-functional partners to support client engagement initiatives, assist with identifying new business opportunities, and helping stylists execute effective selling practices.The Custom Sales Manager plays an important role in reinforcing a strong sales culture by equipping stylists with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to successfully serve clients and grow their individual books of business.Key ResponsibilitiesStylist Success and Sales Support Support our sales team in executing custom sales strategies and initiatives that contribute to custom revenue growth Monitor sales performance and coach sales team to improve conversion, average order value, and client retentionIdentify opportunities to support sales team in growing the custom business through events, partnerships, and proactive client outreachWork with Director of Custom to collaborate with Retail and Ecommerce teams to support custom selling opportunities across all channels including Wholesale partnershipsPartner with the Wholesale team to support the planning and execution of Nordstrom and B2B custom events, helping coordinate stylist participation, client engagement and selling support Team Leadership & DevelopmentSupport the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of Custom Stylists. Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship, to elevate team performance.Foster a culture of accountability, creativity, and client service excellenceEnsure the team consistently delivers a premium styling experience aligned with brand standardsTraining & Selling ExcellenceSupport the development and execution of custom product and system training and selling techniques provided by the Director of CustomSupport the development of the training programs that educate teams on the custom process, product offerings, and selling strategies provided by the Director of CustomDevelop tools, playbooks, and best practices to support stylists in closing custom salesPartner with the Director of Custom to align training initiatives with broader custom business strategyClient Development & New BusinessDrive proactive client development initiatives to expand the custom client baseIdentify creative ways to generate new business including events, partnerships, local outreach, and corporate opportunitiesSupport stylists in developing strong personal client books and long-term relationshipsWork with Marketing to support custom-focused activations and client engagement opportunitiesRequirementsKey Qualifications 6–10+ years of success in luxury retail, custom apparel, or high-touch sales, with a consistent record of exceeding revenue targetsProven track record as a top-performing salesperson who has transitioned into (or is ready for) team leadershipStrong expertise in clienteling and building high-value client books that drive repeat and referral businessAbility to lead, coach, and hold teams accountable to sales KPIs (conversion, AOV, retention)Demonstrated success in driving new business through proactive outreach, events, and partnershipsExperience in custom apparel or made-to-measure strongly preferred Success in This RoleSuccess in this role means providing strong support to the Custom Styling team & ensuring the sales agenda approved by the Director of Custom is implemented to drive strong and consistent results. The goal is to equip our sales team to effectively serve clients, grow their personal books of business, and contribute to the continued growth of the brand’s custom apparel offering.
