Equipment Integration Engineer

Job Title: Equipment Integration Engineer Industry: Manufacturing Location: Corning, NY (Hybrid, 3-5 days per week onsite depending on workflow) Client Overview This role sits within a global materials science and technology company's IT and manufacturing execution systems organization, building the software that connects manufacturing equipment with enterprise systems like MES, ERP, and SCADA. Top 3 Skills Full stack software development (backend and front end) Industrial equipment connectivity protocols (OPC UA, SECS/GEM, TCP/IP) Messaging and integration frameworks What You'll Do Design, develop, test, and deploy full stack software solutions for equipment to system integration Build backend services and front end interfaces Implement messaging and integration frameworks Connect manufacturing equipment using industrial protocols Integrate with MES, SCADA, and other manufacturing platforms Design and optimize databases for equipment data, events, and historical tracking Troubleshoot connectivity, data flow, and system behavior issues Support deployments, commissioning, and production startup Maintain documentation and collaborate with architects, IT, and manufacturing teams Stay current with Industry 4.0 technologies and contribute to continuous improvement What We Need From You Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related field 5 or more years of full stack or backend software development experience Proficiency in Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript Knowledge of OPC UA, SECS/GEM, TCP/IP, or message queuing technologies Experience with databases, Git, and Agile tools Preferred / Bonus Experience with messaging frameworks such as ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or MQTT Familiarity with SCADA (Ignition, znt PAC) or MES (Siemens OpCenter/Camstar) platforms Experience integrating manufacturing equipment with industrial systems Experience with OSI PI or analytics platforms
