Mold Setter/ Changer

Job Summary: The Mold Setter/Changer is responsible for the set-up and removal of molds including all ancillary equipment for injection molding machines and setting machine controls to ensure production of products meet the quality standards. Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm Essential Job Functions: Personal work effort must be done with safety to preventing mold or equipment damage. Obtain approval from supervisor for set-up and product produced. Follow set-up procedures, if there is a problem, notify management. Assist operator on start-up. Performs diagnosis and solves operation or problems. Identifies the need for mold or equipment maintenance. Perform PM molds per specified procedures. Stop any operation where there is an issue of safety or product quality. If delegated by the supervisor, train or assist team members when operation problems occur. Position, align, and secure assembled mold or mold components, and machine. accessories, onto machine using hoist, power tools and hand tools. Set-up and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including granulators, conveyors, liquid temperature controls, and mold electrical controls. Set up and operate molds for production - Perform basic math calculations to determine proper mold specifications - Calibrate and adjust molds as necessary - Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective mold changes - Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize production processes - Maintain a clean and organized work area Skills: - Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools effectively - Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments - Knowledge of materials handling and fabrication techniques - Basic math skills for measurements and calculations - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications - Experience with mold assembly and disassembly is preferred but not required - Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles is a plus Please note that this position may require working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
