Job Description Aerospace Multi‐Axis CNC Machinist (Vertical & Horizontal) Step into a contract-to-hire role with long-term growth in Kent, WA, where you'll set up and run multi-axis vertical and horizontal machining centers to produce tight-tolerance aerospace parts. You'll thrive on precision, safety, and continuous improvement while collaborating with a team that values craftsmanship and quality.Compensation: $30 – $45/hour (DOE)Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PMLocation: Kent, WAA day in this role You kick off at 6:00 AM reviewing setup sheets and work instructions. By mid-morning, you're dialing in fixtures and indicators, confirming flatness and alignment, then bringing multi-axis centers online. Throughout the shift, you interpret aerospace blueprints and GD&T, verify dimensions with micrometers and height gauges, and tune feeds, speeds, and tooling to keep parts on spec. When anomalies occur, you troubleshoot, make program edits, and keep machines running smoothly. You support teammates, share best practices, and leave the area clean, safe, and ready for the next run by 2:30 PM.Core responsibilities Set up and operate vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers (multi-axis) to produce high-precision aerospace componentsWork confidently in X, Y, and Z coordinates; transfer CNC programs and input control instructions as neededInterpret aerospace blueprints, GD&T, setup sheets, and work instructions to ensure part conformanceMeasure parts with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision instrumentsVerify tooling/fixturing using indicators for flatness, alignment, and accuracyAdjust feeds, speeds, and tooling; monitor machine performance to maintain quality and throughputTroubleshoot irregular machine operation, including making appropriate program editsComplete daily machine checks; escalate maintenance needs promptlyLoad and unload materials by hand or using hoists/cranes; maintain coolant systemsReplace and maintain cutting tools per safety and quality protocolsPerform rework, deburr, and repair fixtures as requiredDrive continuous improvement efforts around efficiency, scrap reduction, and qualityAssist in training new operators; uphold a clean, safe work area and follow all PPE/safety rulesPerform additional duties as assignedWhat you bring High school diploma or GED3+ years of CNC machining in aerospace or precision manufacturingHands-on experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis machining centersFluency reading complex blueprints and GD&TProficiency with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)Solid math skills, including fractions and unit conversionsProven ability to troubleshoot machining and program-related issuesStable, consistent work historyAbility to meet ITAR requirements (must be a U.S. Person)Preferred qualifications Vocational training or certifications in machining/manufacturing technologyExperience with tight-tolerance aerospace partsBackground using cranes, forklifts, or material handling equipmentExperience training or mentoring operatorsBenefits On the temp-to-hire program, you will have access to a basic MEC planLegal and compliance TruFit Staffing is an equal opportunity employer and does not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of race, sex, age, color, religion, national origin, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other basis prohibited by federal, state, or local law.
