This position emphasizes proactive engagement with students to support their retention, success, and graduation. The role involves academic advising, career and life coaching, and providing personalized support services to meet the needs of a diverse student population, with a focus on first-generation, under-served, and at-risk students. The Student Success Coach will contribute to the College's strategic retention and completion efforts by providing proactive, holistic support to students. The role will also support institutional priorities by designing, implementing, and refining a cohesive Student Success Coaching program for the Camden campus.The Student Success Coach will remain consistent with Camden County College's acknowledgement of the inherent value and dignity of all individuals by creating and nurturing a learning and working environment that affirms and leverages our community's traditions, heritages, perspectives, and experiences. We manifest this commitment through our innovative, strategic and collaborative efforts to develop leaders who believe in and lead others toward practicing civility, mutual respect, in our workplaces and society.Job DescriptionAcademic and Career CoachingConduct individualized coaching sessions to develop educational and career pathways that will help students to track, meet, and achieve their academic and personal goals.Monitor student progress and provide coaching on academic success strategies.Assist students with navigating college policies, procedures, and resources.Stay informed about best practices in student success, academic coaching/advising, and higher education trends.Retention and Engagement InitiativesDesign, implement, and continuously refine the Student Success Coaching program for the Camden campus, coordinating with the Title III Project Director and the Blackwood Student Success Coach to ensure consistent, high-impact support services across locations.Identify at-risk students and implement targeted intervention plans while developing and executing broader strategies to enhance student retention and completion rates.Coordinate workshops, events, and orientation programs to enhance student engagement and improve student retention rates.Student Advocacy and SupportProvide referrals to internal and community resources to address students' academic and personal challenges to facilitate college persistence and retention.Foster a supportive environment that encourages self-advocacy and resilience.Collaboration and OutreachWork with faculty, staff, and community partners to create a comprehensive network of support for students to advance a holistic approach in providing access to resources.Serve as a liaison between students and institutional departments to streamline services.Data Management and ReportingMaintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.Use data analytics to assess and improve student success initiatives.College Policies and RegulationsComply with all safety, fire, and smoking regulations.Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training as scheduled by Human Resources.Perform all other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree required; Master's degree in counseling, higher education, or a related field preferred.Minimum of one years' experience in either student life, academic advising, student retention, social work or related field.Experience working with diverse populations, including underserved and first-generation students.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Empathy and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.Proficiency in using technology for advising and tracking student progress.Bilingual Spanish-English preferred.BenefitsCamden County College offers a comprehensive benefits package to our full-time employees that includes medical, prescription, dental plans, life insurance, short & long-term disability, retirement plans, and a flexible spending account.
