Utility Program Outreach Specialist
About This OpportunityWe are seeking a Utility Program Outreach Specialist who will be responsible for engaging industrial customers on behalf of utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs. This role builds relationships with facility decision-makers, trade allies, and market influencers to identify energy-saving project opportunities, drive participation in incentive programs, and support overall program goals. That future is being built here. . . .come be a part of it!What You Will Be DoingBuild and maintain relationships with industrial and commercial customers, trade allies, and industry partners to identify and advance energy efficiency opportunities.Conduct outreach through calls, emails, events, and meetings to educate stakeholders on program offerings and benefits.Qualify leads and support participants through program and incentive processes and manage enrollment from initial engagement through completion.Track outreach activity, pipeline progress, and reporting data using CRM tools and other program systems.Partner with internal teams to share market feedback, align messaging and technical support, and independently meet outreach and program goals.This is a full-time, exempt position. Preferred locations are Manchester, Lakewood, Burlington, or Trenton, New Jersey. We are also open to statewide locations in New Jersey as well. Minimal travel is anticipated for this role.QualificationsApplicants for this role are required to have:Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in energy management, technology, business administration or related fieldSuccessful lead generation, networking, and relationship building ability2+ years of experience in B2B outreach, sales, or business development—preferably in the energy, sustainability, or industrial sectorsA successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:General knowledge and understanding of energy-efficiency technologies and opportunities for industrial and commercial facilities, i.e., what systems use energy, how they use energy, and methods for reducing energy useExperience with utility funded energy efficiency or demand side management programsSelf-starter, detail oriented, and collaborativeFor candidates whose experience may not align perfectly with all these preferred skills but can see themselves adding value in this role, we encourage you to still apply.
