Certification Engineer

Department: Office CTEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: Chester, CTReporting To: Christina UnderwoodDescriptionThe Certification Engineer is responsible for preparing certification deliverables and providing guidance, support and expertise related to certification activities. This role coordinates certification efforts cross-functionally, ensuring alignment with internal procedures and regulatory standards. The position operates with a high degree of independence while collaborating with multiple departments to support timely, compliant certification outcomes.Duties And ResponsibilitiesPrepare, execute, and finalize all protocols and deliverables associated with certification workCompany focal for RTCA (DO-160), ASTM, SAE, and MIL STD test standardsCoordinate all certification activities through proactive communication with impacted departments and personnelProvide guidance, as needed, to company personnel on FAA design and production approval holder requirementsOversee certification processes and documentation to ensure compliance with internal standards and applicable regulationsReview and evaluate certification procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiencyEnsure accurate documentation and timely completion of certification deliverablesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support project timelines and quality objectivesProvide guidance and support to team members and stakeholders on certification-related requirementsEducation And ExperienceBachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)4-7 years of relevant experience in certification, engineering, quality, or a related functionStrong understanding of certification processes, documentation practices, and compliance standardsExcellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage moderately complex projects independently while contributing to team-based initiativesStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesAll Employees ShallComply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements.Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.Attend scheduled EH&S training programActively support the organization's efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans.Recommend improved EH&S practices.Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and third parties.
