Position: Coordinator of Teaching and Learning Salary Schedule/Base Annual Rate (Subject to Change): Administrative Salary Schedule $92,090.00. Additional credit for related years of service and education. About the Role The goal of the Coordinator of Teaching and Learning is to support the mission, vision, and goals of J.O. Combs Unified School District, curriculum and instruction, facilitating the Combs Induction Program and oversees the professional development plan which assists teachers in improving classroom instruction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned: Plans and manages Combs Induction Program/Orientation. Develop and facilitate district mentorship programs. Collaborates with the Human Resources department on the development and execution of "grow your own programs". Serves as the representative for the Teaching and Learning department at recruitment fairs. Partners with the Coordinator of Assessment and Accountability to facilitate data meetings at each school site to align desired outcomes and instructional practices. Co-plans and facilitate professional development sessions to support learning for all district employees, including district-wide professional development days. Facilitates and guides the instructional coach team meetings to ensure professional development is focused and aligned to individual campus needs. Conducts formative classroom observations of teachers and provides formative feedback. Communicates with faculty regarding relevant information regarding best practices to improve the quality of teaching and instruction (PD newsletter, sharing additional PD opportunities). Attends professional development workshops in job-related areas. Seeks community resources to assist with special projects. Assist with the annual review of District curriculum and ensure compliance with state standards. Attend Governing Board meetings. Perform related duties as assigned. What You Need Arizona Teaching Certificate Arizona Supervisors Endorsement, preferred Arizona State Reading Endorsement, preferred Minimum of three (3) years of satisfactory teaching experience Knowledge of Arizona State Standards Knowledge of current academic research Skill in instructional processes that facilitate integration of curriculum In-depth knowledge of reading/writing/listening/speaking skills instructional strategies Technology literacy Excellent time management skills Must have or be able to obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card, through Arizona Department of Public Safety Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to move about the campuses and to drive to the schools and departments in the district. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
