General DentistLocation: Orlando VA Healthcare System (Orlando, FL) – Multiple Clinic Locations Employment Type: Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Schedule: Rotating shifts between 6:30 AM – 8:00 PM, including potential weekends and holidays.Work LocationsOrlando VA Medical Center – Orlando, FLLake Baldwin VA Clinic – Orlando, FLViera VA Clinic – Viera, FLDaytona Beach VA Clinic – Daytona Beach, FLTravel between clinics may be required to provide coverage.Position SummaryThe General Dentist provides comprehensive dental care to eligible veterans at VA outpatient dental clinics. The provider performs examinations, diagnoses, preventative and therapeutic dental treatments, and collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive dental exams and consultationsDiagnose and treat diseases and conditions of the oral cavity and maxillofacial structuresPerform restorative dental procedures including treatment of caries and defective restorationsProvide prosthetic replacement of missing dentition (fixed and removable)Perform implant restoration and implant-retained denturesPerform non-surgical endodontic therapyPerform simple and surgical tooth extractionsProvide emergency dental treatmentPerform gingivectomy and gingivoplasty proceduresTreat temporomandibular disorders (TMD) non-surgicallyConduct minor oral surgery procedures and biopsiesProvide oral pathology and oral medicine servicesProvide sedation/anxiolysis (oral single agent) when appropriateDentists must follow all VA clinical guidelines and documentation standards.Required QualificationsDoctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)Current active dental license in any U.S. state or territoryCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationAbility to meet VA credentialing and privileging requirementsExperience providing comprehensive dental carePreferred QualificationsExperience in government or VA healthcare settingsExperience with implants, oral surgery, or prosthodonticsExperience working in multidisciplinary healthcare teams
