ENERGY ENGINEER II- Solar PV, BESS & MicrogridWhy This Role Matters:We are seeking a seasoned expert in the energy field to join our team as a Senior Energy Engineer. In this role, you will conduct energy analysis for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems across diverse projects and develop Energy Performance Contracts for various building types.As a senior member of the Energy team, you will lead technical audits, review, and develop energy conservation projects. What You'll Do:Perform initial Energy Use Index benchmarking to vet potential prospect opportunities Perform ASHRAE Level I audits/feasibility studies for prospective opportunitiesAssist clients with creating RFP documentsCreate technical review documents for RFP grading and client recommendation Work in conjunction with CPL MEP engineering team to prepare final design and NYSED submittal paperwork for K-12 Energy Performance Projects (EPC)Respond to the NYSED and other governing body design questions/clarificationAssist with EPC RFP structure and processDetermine applicability, preparation of forms, and completion of energy studies (ASHRAE Level II, etc.). NYSERDA, Utility, State and Federal incentive and grant programs. Sustainable product and services researchAssist with creating processes for developing new sustainable/energy services to new and existing clients. What You Bring:BS in Mechanical or Energy Engineering and have 5-10+ years of experience with a minimum of 3 years focused on Energy Engineering. Professional Energy licensure: CEM or CEA is a must. Proficient in identifying energy saving opportunities for building systemsFundamental knowledge of applicable codes and standards – mechanical and energy codes, American Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) standards, etc. Experience performing energy audits and implementing energy projects Ability to perform energy calculations and utility bill analyses with easeAptitude for creative problem-solving, particularly in time-sensitive situations which require fast turnaround A background including zero net energy projects is a plus. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law.
