Recreational Therapist
Job Summary
Responsible for the development and administration of a comprehensive, well-rounded social rehabilitation program to meet the recovery needs of the inpatient population of HMNH's BHU. Implements a diverse therapeutic program which enables the patients to maintain the highest attainable social, physical, and emotional functioning focusing on recovery and community re-entry. Responsible for cost efficient use of resources for the activity program.
Licensure and Certification
Current BLS provider card
MAB training for high-risk areas identified by the Hospital.
Education
Bachelor's degree in related field
Master's degree preferred
Registered Recreation Therapist or Licensed Occupational Therapist
Experience
A minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience working in mental health preferred

Basic computer skills
Physical Demands - Clerical/Administrative Non-Patient Care:
Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change.
Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.
Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.
Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.
Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
