Backend Founding Engineer

A start up is looking for a Backend Founding Engineer to join their team.Location: NYC; Must be able to work in NYC 4 days onsite per weekCompensation: $180-230k + EquityMust have worked at early stage start-ups!US Citizens/GC Holders; no C2C/3rd partiesResponsibilities:Independently communicate with Customer Support to investigate and resolve customer-reported issuesDesign database schemas and APIs for small-to-medium scoped featuresImplement features following internal engineering principles and guidelinesProvide estimates for their own work and communicate progress and risks proactively to the teamQualifications:Deep experience with and understanding of:JavaScript (5+ years)Node.js (5+ years)Express.js framework (2+ years)APIs (5+ years)/Building fintech backend APIs (1+ years)Databases (PostGreSQL) (2+ years)Architecture (2+ years)Fintech web applications (1+ years)Ability to see challenges as opportunities to level up, high-achieving and goal-orientedA collaborative spirit and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, highly collaborative and transparent in your work, output, and decision makingPassion for creative thinking and bold ideas for growing the business/enhancing customer experienceExpert time management and organizational skills
