Electrical Design Engineer

Its project portfolio includes notable landmarks such as the Wang Theater (now the Boch Center) and major retail chains like Staples, offering team members exposure to diverse and high-profile projects.Role Description The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for developing electrical design concepts, preparing detailed drawings, and producing specifications for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. Day-to-day tasks include performing load calculations, designing power distribution systems, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and supporting fire alarm and tel-data system layouts. The role involves reviewing shop drawings, assisting with construction administration, and collaborating with clients, contractors, and project managers to address technical questions and field issues. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Norwood, MA, requiring regular interaction with the engineering team and participation in project meetings.QualificationsDemonstrated proficiency in Electrical Design and Design Engineering for building and infrastructure projects.Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering and Electricity, including codes, standards, and safety practices.Experience with Power Distribution systems design, load calculations, and panel scheduling.Familiarity with tel-data and fire alarm system design is beneficial.Ability to use CAD or BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for preparing drawings and documentation.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; EIT or PE licensure is a plus.Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines on-site.
