Ranked 37 among national universities, Boston College has 923 full-time and 1,336 FTE faculty, 2,822 non-faculty employees, an operating budget of $1.4 billion, and an endowment in excess of $3.9 billion.Job DescriptionThe Administrative Assistant provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Department Chair, 24 full-time faculty, 25-30 part-time faculty, and approximately 500 students in the Business Analytics Department. This role is essential to the department's daily operations and supports its mission of excellence in teaching, research, and student experience.Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily department operations; establish and implement office procedures and policiesServe as liaison between the Chair and university offices (e.g., Student Services, Dean's Office)Coordinate onboarding and support for full-time and part-time facultyManage departmental budgets, including tracking expenses, requisitions, travel reports, and PCard reconciliationOversee undergraduate registration (Eagle Apps), including course monitoring, waitlists, overrides, and high-volume student inquiriesAdvise students on degree requirements; approve majors/minors and verify credentialsCoordinate faculty recruitment, including job postings, applicant tracking, interviews, and campus visitsPlan and support departmental events, including a 20+ speaker annual series and student awardsMaintain department website, course catalog, and class schedulesLiaise with Technology Consultant; coordinate faculty technology setup and equipment needsSupervise work-study students and manage RA/TA requests each semesterSupport faculty with travel, research, teaching, and administrative needsAssist with faculty merit review processes and departmental reportingDraft communications and support special projects as assignedHiring Range: $25.60/hr to $32.01/hr.
