What is the position?The Transportation Manager will lead and oversee the daily operations of a growing company’s transportation network. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on management to ensure cost-effective, compliant, and customer-focused delivery services. Success in this position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of logistics.What are the responsibilities?As a Transportation Manager, you will:Direct day-to-day operations, including route planning, driver coordination, and fleet oversightTrack key transportation costs and identify opportunities for savingsImplement efficient shipping strategies and delivery methodsEnsure full compliance with transportation safety and labor regulationsCoordinate with internal teams to maintain smooth delivery and distribution operationsMaintain comprehensive records of fleet activities and vehicle maintenanceLead driver training initiatives focused on safety and service excellenceAnalyze performance metrics using routing and logistics softwareFoster a high-performance team culture centered on accountability and improvementCollaborate with leadership to resolve operational challenges and drive growthWhat are the requirements?4+ years in transportation, logistics, or distribution managementExperience with DOT and regulatory complianceProficient in route optimization tools (e.g., RoadNet) and ExcelDemonstrated ability to manage transportation budgets and reduce costsExperience with GPS systems, fleet software, and data analysisValid driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain a DOT Medical CardP&L management experience is a plusYou would be really happy here if:You are a born leader able to motivate employees and harness team talent for optimal resultsYou can strategize, understanding the company’s goals and creating effective plans to achieve themJoCo is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
