As one of the largest commercial roofing contractors in the U.S., we offer long-term stability, career growth, and the opportunity to work on complex commercial projects with industry-leading professionals.We are seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator who has worked directly for a commercial roofing contractor and understands the importance of accuracy, collaboration, and detail-driven estimating.Position SummaryThe Commercial Roofing Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for new construction and replacement roofing projects across a variety of commercial roof systems. This role works closely with Project Managers, Sales, and Operations to ensure scopes, pricing, and proposals are complete, precise, and executable.This position requires strong technical knowledge of commercial roofing systems, excellent computer skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids while maintaining a high level of accuracy.Key ResponsibilitiesEstimating & PreconstructionPrepare detailed cost estimates for new construction and replacement commercial roofing projectsPerform take-offs, labor projections, material pricing, and subcontractor evaluationsReview drawings, specifications, and site conditions to ensure complete and accurate scopesDevelop bid packages and proposals with clear, detailed pricing and scope narrativesNegotiate pricing and contracts in coordination with sales and leadershipTechnical & Systems KnowledgeEstimate multiple commercial roofing systems and manufacturers (TPO, EPDM, PVC, Modified, Built-Up, Metal, etc.)Maintain current knowledge of manufacturer requirements, specifications, and warranty optionsUtilize Edge Estimating software (highly preferred) or similar estimating platformsEnsure estimates align with company standards, production rates, and margin expectationsCollaboration & TeamworkWork closely with Project Managers, Superintendent and Sales to support bid strategy and project turnoverParticipate in job walks, pre-bid meetings, and internal review meetingsSupport smooth handoff from estimating to operationsAccuracy & Detail ControlEnsure estimates are complete, consistent, and highly accurateTrack bid status, revisions, and awarded workMaintain organized and auditable estimating filesQualifications & ExperienceMinimum 5+ years of experience as a Commercial Roofing EstimatorMust have worked directly for a commercial roofing contractorProven experience estimating new construction and replacement roofing projectsStrong knowledge of commercial roofing systems and manufacturersHighly detail-oriented with a strong numbers and accuracy focusAdvanced computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating softwareEdge Estimating or similar software experience strongly preferredExcellent organizational, communication, and time-management skillsTeam-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departmentsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary (commensurate with experience)Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance401(k) with employer contributionPaid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidaysCareer growth and advancement opportunitiesStable workload with a national commercial roofing leaderKey CompetenciesAccuracy First: Extremely detail- and numbers-orientedTeam Player: Works effectively with PMs, Sales, and OperationsTechnical Expertise: Strong understanding of commercial roofing systemsOrganized & Efficient: Manages multiple bids without sacrificing qualityProfessional Judgment: Makes sound estimating and pricing decisionsThe preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work to be performed.
