Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description Position SummaryThe Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing manufacturing equipment and facility systems within a carbon graphite manufacturing environment. This position supports production operations by ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe and efficient workplace.The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment and be comfortable working on a wide variety of production equipment, CNC machinery, ovens/furnaces, dust collection systems, pumps, compressors, and facility systems.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial manufacturing equipment and machineryPerform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipmentRepair and maintain:CNC machinesIndustrial ovens/furnacesHydraulic and pneumatic systemsVacuum systemsPumps and compressorsDust collection systemsConveyors and mechanical drivesMaterial handling equipmentRead and interpret:Mechanical drawingsEquipment manualsSchematicsBlueprintsInstall and align motors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, and related componentsPerform welding, fabrication, and basic machining as neededTroubleshoot electrical controls and work alongside electricians when requiredInspect equipment for wear, safety concerns, and operational deficienciesRespond quickly to equipment breakdowns and emergency repairsMaintain maintenance logs and repair documentationAssist with machine installations, upgrades, and facility improvement projectsFollow all company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirementsMaintain clean and organized maintenance and work areasSupport continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiencyQualificationsMinimum 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferredExperience in heavy manufacturing, machining, metals, carbon graphite, or industrial production environments strongly preferredStrong mechanical troubleshooting abilitiesExperience with:HydraulicsPneumaticsBearingsMotorsGearboxesBelts/chainsIndustrial pumpsBasic electrical troubleshooting experience preferredWelding and fabrication experience preferredAbility to safely use maintenance tools and equipmentStrong understanding of preventative maintenance practicesAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong communication and teamwork skillsEducation & CertificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredTechnical/trade school training preferredOSHA or safety certifications are a plusForklift and scissor lift experience preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds regularlyAbility to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in confined spacesAbility to work in hot, dusty, noisy, and industrial manufacturing environmentsAbility to work overtime or emergency call-ins when requiredWork EnvironmentThis position operates in a manufacturing carbon graphite facility environment and may involve exposure to:Industrial machineryCarbon/graphite dustHeat from ovens/furnacesNoise and vibrationMoving mechanical equipmentProper PPE must be worn at all times.Additional ExpectationsMaintain confidentiality regarding company proprietary processes and informationDemonstrate professionalism, dependability, and strong attendanceFollow all company policies and proceduresPromote a safety-first culture throughout the facilityIncrease your chances of an interview by reading the following overview of this role before making an application.Benefits Package Includes: Salary commensurate with experience ($25 p/h- $30.00p/h).
