The Bilingual Special Education Assistant also provides bilingual assistance in the instruction and assessment of Limited English Proficient (LEP) students. The Bilingual Special Education Assistant also provides support in general education classrooms with the goal of helping students to reach their educational goals. Due to the varied and individual needs of each student, Bilingual Special Education Assistants may provide a variety of support and assistance and should be flexible adjusting to student needs.QualificationsRequired Qualifications - Required qualifications to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR.• High school diploma or GED.• Must meet District standards for language proficiency in English and the targeted second language.• Possession of or eligibility for a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Certificate as a Special Education Aide.• NCI certified or must obtain certification as soon as practical after hire.• Must meet Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) standard for certification.Preferred Qualifications - Highly desired education, training, and/or experience that may be helpful in performing the job, if applicable.• Previous experience working with special needs children.• Associate degree or two years of experience in relevant area.• CPR and First Aid certified or experience and/or training with CPR and First Aid.Candidate RequirementsAdditional RequirementsCover LetterResumeCustom Questions
