The IT Manager will function as a hands‐on technical leader, managing a team of developers and architects while partnering with business, enterprise architecture, and AI teams to design and implement scalable automation solutions. The role requires strong experience in AI‐driven automation, including document processing, generative AI, and agentic workflows, along with a proven track record of delivering multiple large‐scale automation programs across the enterprise.ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute enterprise automation strategy using Automation Anywhere OR UiPathLead end-to-end delivery of automation programs from discovery through deployment and supportIdentify and prioritize automation opportunities across business units aligned to ROI and efficiency goalsDesign and govern scalable automation architectures, frameworks, and reusable componentsAct as the technical authority for Automation Anywhere OR UiPath platforms, including orchestration and bot lifecycle managementConduct solution design reviews, code reviews, and enforce development standards and best practicesIntegrate automation solutions with enterprise systems, APIs, data platforms, and AI/ML servicesDrive implementation of AI-powered automation use cases including document processing, NLP workflows, and intelligent decisioningLeverage platform-native AI capabilities such as AI copilots, document AI, and generative AI integrationsEnable hybrid automation combining RPA, AI agents, and human-in-the-loop workflowsLead and mentor a team of developers, architects, and analysts, ensuring high‐quality delivery and technical excellenceManage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent initiativesEstablish and scale automation CoE practices including governance, standards, and operating modelsEnsure compliance with enterprise SDLC, security, audit, and regulatory requirementsImplement monitoring, logging, and reporting frameworks for automation performance and stabilityDrive platform standardization and reduction of tool sprawl across the enterprisePromote citizen development with appropriate guardrails and governanceContinuously optimize automation solutions for performance, scalability, and resilienceCollaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to align on roadmap, capabilities, and innovationQualifications Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Applications development, applications analysis or systems engineeringORHigh School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Applications development, applications analysis or systems engineeringPreferred qualifications:Proven experience delivering enterprise automation solutions using Automation Anywhere OR UiPathStrong hands‐on expertise in automation architecture, bot development, and orchestrationExperience implementing AI-integrated automation including document processing, NLP, or generative AIFamiliarity with AI/ML concepts and integration within automation workflowsExperience with APIs, microservices, and enterprise system integrationsProgramming experience in Python, .NET, or similar technologiesExperience leading technical teams and managing large‐scale automation programsStrong understanding of SDLC methodologies including Agile and WaterfallExperience with process mining, task mining, or workflow orchestration platformsAutomation Anywhere certification (Advanced RPA Professional or equivalent) OR UiPath certification (Developer, Advanced Developer, or Solution Architect)Exposure to cloud platforms and AI services such as AWS, Azure, or Google CloudStrong stakeholder management and executive communication skillsAbility to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutionsExperience building or scaling automation Center of Excellence (CoE) modelsBenefits Benefits are an integral part of total rewards and First Citizens Bank is committed to providing a competitive, thoughtfully designed and quality benefits program to meet the needs of our associates.More information can be found at https://jobs.firstcitizens.com/benefits.If hired in North Carolina, the base pay for this position is generally between $102,391 and $150,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law.
