Such efforts include, but are not limited to, the physical security of the buildings and grounds, and the personal safety of students, faculty and staff.QUALIFICATIONSCandidate must have the following:Ability to work well with diverse populationsWillingness to learn and enforce school discipline policy and safety guidelinesStrong organizational and motivational skillsAttention to detail and observation abilityExceptional communication and interpersonal abilitiesAbility to handle sensitive information while protecting privacy and confidentialityAssociates or Bachelors degree preferredHigh School Diploma requiredESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises weapons detection system and metal detector use at student arrival, late arrivals and visitors throughout the day.Responds to and investigates all safety concerns and emergency situationsAssists administration in resolving conflicts between students and/or staffMonitors designated areas of the campus including, but not limited to, hallways, restrooms, cafeteria, external doors and parking lots.Monitors and maintains video, radio, alarm, weapons detection, metal detection and access control systemsWorks closely with local law enforcement agencies to monitor the status of students charged with criminal offensesParticipate in random K-9 and metal detector inspectionsServe as a member of the school level Behavioral Threat Assessment teamPerforms other duties as assigned by the DirectorPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
