Salary: $15.81 HourlyLocation : DeltonaJob Type: Staff - Part-TimeJob Number: 202500340Department: Mary Karl College of Workforce & Continuing EducationOpening Date: 04/20/2026Closing Date: 5/4/2026 5:00 PM EasternRequired Qualifications:Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDVocational Certificate with an emphasis in Welding or closely related field.3 months of experienceKey Responsibilities:Assists Instructor in Welding labs to oversee students in operation of lab equipment in compliance with all safety procedures, as well as, College rules and guidelines.Prepares/sets up lab for classes; includes cutting material, setting up shop equipment, and maintaining cutting tool inventory.Maintains equipment maintenance records for area of responsibility; cleans and checks lab equipment periodically to ensure optimal functioning.Follow and carry out assignments given by the department Assistant Chair.Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President of their designee.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Must be able to relate and work with faculty and students individually and in groups.Exercises good judgment and communicates effectively both orally and written.Must have strong organizational skills and ability to work in multi-task environments and maintain positive customer relations.Ability to supervise students in a lab environment; and have welding knowledge and skills.Demonstrate tool functions and safety procedures as well as maintain, repair and handle tools and tool supplies.Ability to do sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis, and routine keyboard operations.Veteran's Preference Information:This position is eligible for Veterans Preference pursuant to Chapter 295 of Florida Statutes.
