Location: Cary, North CarolinaWork Arrangement: Onsite, Full TimeDuration: W2 - Contract 1 YearSchedule: Monday through Friday, 1st Shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Flexible)Travel: Up to 10% (Local travel between Cary, Morrisville, and Fuquay locations)Role SummaryWe are seeking a Software Engineer – Embedded Systems to support the development of embedded software solutions for Turf & Compact Utility equipment. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, and validating software that delivers value-added features to customers while supporting vehicle platform performance and reliability.The ideal candidate will have experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Embedded C/C++, Embedded Operating Systems, and Model-Based Design. This individual will collaborate with software engineers, testers, and cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements development through testing and deployment.This position is best suited for a mid-career engineer with 3-4+ years of experience who can quickly become productive within the team. Candidates from agricultural, automotive, off-highway, mobile equipment, or embedded controls backgrounds are strongly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform requirements analysis, operational concept development, and software architecture activitiesDesign, develop, and implement embedded software applications using C/C++ and MATLAB/SimulinkParticipate in software integration, code reviews, testing, and validation activitiesMaintain feature-level software architecture across multiple vehicle platforms and configurationsConduct unit testing and functional testing of software componentsAnalyze and drive resolution of complex software issuesCollaborate with engineering, validation, and testing teams throughout the software delivery processSupport vehicle platform testing, validation, tuning, and troubleshooting effortsImplement new features and resolve software defects based on defined requirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Software Engineering3-4+ years of embedded software development experienceExperience developing embedded applications using C and/or C++Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and Model-Based DesignKnowledge of embedded operating systems and embedded development processesExperience writing and reviewing software requirementsExperience with software delivery lifecycles and development methodologiesStrong technical problem-solving abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with unit and functional software testingNot a Fit ForEntry-level candidates or recent graduatesCandidates with only Computer Science backgroundsCandidates with Mechanical Engineering degrees lacking embedded software experiencePreferred ExperienceAgile software development methodologiesState flowEmbedded operating system drivers and integrationCAN/J1939 communication networksControl systems design and analysisAgricultural, automotive, mobile equipment, or off-highway platformsContinuous Integration (CI) and automated build toolsEmbedded development tools including emulators, compilers, and simulatorsMechanical, hydraulic, or electrical system diagnosticsAutomotive communication protocols including CAN, LIN, and EthernetElectronic circuits, schematics, and datasheet interpretationLaboratory tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzersExperience testing and validating vehicle equipment, mowers, tractors, or related machineryTravel & Work EnvironmentUp to 10% travel between local facilities and occasional factory visitsTravel primarily within the Cary, Morrisville, and Fuquay areaDrive personal vehicle for local business travel (mileage reimbursed per policy)Metatarsal footwear required for applicable facility visits (expense eligible)Primarily onsite work environmentOpportunity to participate in vehicle testing, system validation, and field evaluations#INDOEM
