Maintain a sterile environment and sterilize all instruments before surgery. Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon and assist with various tasks. Count and manage sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures. Help position and drape patients appropriately for surgery. Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth operations. QualificationsBefore we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred). Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in various surgical specialties (i.e. General, Ortho, Urology and GYN). Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current. Two to Three years experience working in an operating room setting or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) upon hire and maintained current Must be proficient in the following specialties within 6 months: a. Gen b. Gyn c. Urol d. Vasc e. ENT/Plastics Must be proficient one of the following specialties within 6 months: a. Major Vascular b. Ortho c. Neuro Proficient is defined as the associate can perform cases in that specialty independently.
