DescriptionJob Description:This position is responsible for fabricating crates or boxes using hand and power tools while maintaining safety, quality, customer, housekeeping and productivity specifications.ResponsibilitiesBuilds crates around large products Packages items in appropriate packagingReads drawings, sales orders, work orders, and other specifications needed for determining size and shape of crate/packaging with appropriate materialsUses hand tools, saws, nails, and screws as needed Inspects the completed item to ensure product is secure for transit without damageMeets deadlines with attention to detail while following quality requirementsMaintains a clean work environment and follows housekeeping requirementsFollows company safety policies and procedures Signs off schedules and manages paperwork as directed Works independently and as a teamPerforms other duties as assignedMaintains a professional mannerFollow directions provided by Leads, Supervisors, and ManagementRequirementsQualifications/Skills:Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Experience with crating preferred Efficient time management skillsOvertime required depending on workloadAttention to detail Ability to read a tape measure Operation of motorized equipment (ie forklift) as neededAble to lift and carry up to 30 pounds individuallyAbility to make repetitive movements, including but not limited to bending and squattingHS Diploma or GED strongly preferred
