Job Description Job Title: Family AdvocateSalary Range: $50,000 annual salary with benefitsLocation: Morningside/Hamilton HeightsPurpose: A socially-conscious company is seeking a Family Advocate for a Family Enrichment Center in Morningside/Hamilton Heights. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with skills in outreach, relationship-building, and has experience working directly with families and underserved communities.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEngage in outreach to parents, children, and other community members to encourage them to visit the Family Enrichment Center (FEC).Help parents, children, and other community members connect to local resources, services, and other supports.Use Appreciative Inquity and other strength-based tools to engage community members in co-designing offerings.Create monthly calendars, website content, and other outreach tools to promote and document offerings.Increase awareness of the program among the general public and local communityInteract and greet visitors, including new and current participants, partners, and other stakeholdersModel professionalism and inclusiveness, cultivate a safe environment for career development, and motivated clients to find full-time employmentDesired QualificationsMinimum qualifications include:Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years professional experience ORHS Diploma and five (5) years professional experience in similar community programsAvailability to work occasional evenings or weekends as neededKnowledge of and/or lived experience in the Morningside/Hamilton Heights area preferredOutstanding people/interpersonal skillsBilingual candidates strongly encouraged to applyExperience caring for children (as a parent, guardian, relative, neighbor, or babysitter)Outreach and canvassing skills/experience preferredKnowledge of Canva and social media management tools a plusProficiency in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint preferredExperience and/or passion for serving individuals from disadvantaged and underserved populations, including but not limited to public assistance recipients, justice-involved individuals, persons with physical and/or mental disabilities, and individuals experiencing homelessnessStrong communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skillsBenefitsComprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceGenerous Paid Time Off Package401K Matching After 1 YearFree Gym Membership at NYSC After 1 YearWonderful team, great work-life balance, and an opportunity to work towards an important mission of helping individuals achieve self-sufficiency
