POSITION SUMMARY
The P&A Manager is responsible for analyzing the financial and operational effectiveness of property operations, including casino, marketing, hotel, and food and beverage operations. This position is considered a strategic partner to property leadership, providing insight and recommendations into our business and the market in which we operate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for supervising and managing staff in the Planning & Analysis team and developing P&A talent
Partners with property and regional P&A leadership to assist with providing insight and recommendations into how to improve our businesses
Develops, implements, and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives
Demonstrates intellectual curiosity for the business and industry. Responsible for maintaining updated knowledge of industry trends and using knowledge to drive change
Prepares competitive and operational analysis, financial forecasts and other special projects as requested
Analyzes marketing programs to determine the effectiveness of marketing efforts
Responsible for labor analytics and partnering with department leaders for efficient scheduling; monitoring and reporting on KPIs
Prepares market share, casino events, labor analysis reports and other analytical reports
Oversee and / or perform any ad-hoc analysis necessary to improve business operations and assist other departments with more complex analytical needs
Facilitate end of month close process for the property in conjunction with other finance leaders
Coordinates and administers the annual operating and capital budgeting process to provide accurate budget information to various departments and the delivery of final budget for company financial planning
Assists with presenting and discussing analyses with property level executives
Completes and/or reviews month end reconciliations and variance analysis of financials
Ensures documentation is completed for all key controls, and coordinates requests with internal and external auditors
Responsible for completion of certain monthly and quarterly analytics
Assists with presenting and discussing analyses with property level executives
Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and reporting potential issues to Executive Management / GM
Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters
Perform other duties as assigned by management

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting, or related field; or at least three years planning & analysis experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA preferred. Gaming experience highly preferred. Leadership experience preferred
Strong understanding of statistics, budgets, forecasts, and financial statements
Must have technical proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
Must have advanced experience in Excel, COGNOS, and SQL. Experience with computer report writing software highly desirable
Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills
Must have the ability to analyze data and make sound recommendations based upon trends
Highly organized and detail-oriented; must be able to meet required deadlines and coordinate multiple tasks
Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues
Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal stakeholders, including but not limited to property leadership
Able to obtain and maintain a State Gaming License
This job has supervisory responsibilities
Responsible for staff development and training programs
Evaluates team members within department and delivers feedback to employees with regard to performance
Provides recommendations for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning, and directing work) to meet business needs
Establishes work procedures and manages workflow
Responsible for managing employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).
