Coastal Well ServiceCement Supervisor – Well Plugging & Abandonment (P&A)Position SummaryCoastal Well Service is seeking an experienced Cement Supervisor to lead cementing operations for oil & gas well plugging and abandonment projects. This position plays a critical role in ensuring well integrity, environmental protection, and full compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong field experience in cementing and P&A operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise all cementing operations associated with well plugging and abandonment projectsPlan and execute cement plug programs including surface, intermediate, and production zone isolationEnsure compliance with all applicable regulations, including Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and state oil & gas agenciesCoordinate daily activities with rig crews, drillers, wireline, and field supervisorsMonitor slurry design, pumping pressures, volumes, and displacement to ensure proper placementVerify plug placement through tagging, pressure testing, and other validation methodsTroubleshoot field challenges such as lost circulation, fluid losses, and cement bonding issuesMaintain accurate job logs, cementing reports, and regulatory documentationInspect and ensure proper operation of cementing equipment (pumps, bulk systems, lines)Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) meetings and enforce Coastal Well Service safety standardsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required (technical training preferred)Minimum 5+ years oilfield experience with at least 2+ years in cementingProven experience in well plugging and abandonment operations strongly preferredStrong understanding of cement slurry design and downhole conditionsKnowledge of well integrity standards and pressure control proceduresValid driver’s license (CDL preferred)Willingness to travel and work rotational schedules in field environmentsPreferred CertificationsWell Control Certification (IWCF or IADC)H2S CertificationOSHA Safety TrainingFirst Aid/CPRCore CompetenciesLeadership and crew managementStrong problem-solving in high-pressure environmentsMechanical and operational expertise with pumping equipmentCommitment to safety and regulatory complianceClear communication and teamworkWhy Join Coastal Well Service?Established and growing company specializing in well plugging and environmental remediationStrong safety culture and team-oriented work environmentCompetitive pay with overtime opportunitiesPer diem, travel accommodations, and benefits packageOpportunities for advancement within a rapidly expanding operationPhysical RequirementsThe individual must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required.
