If you have what it takes, Resolve Marine would like to hear from you. We are looking for candidates having salvage, towing, emergency response and operational experience along US Coastal Waters, in and around Alaska on conventional ocean-going tug/anchor handling vessels with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Master.To be successful in this position the candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude who takes pride in their work. They will demonstrate the ability to cooperate and communicate well with coworkers, supervisors, and subordinates. They will step up as a leader but be willing to ask for support when needed. They will be reliable and able to see a task through to completion, demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skills. They will follow all safety protocols and adhere to regulations and company policies. Contract is 2 months ON/OFF with +/- 5 days to match with our company flight availability.Position ResponsibilitiesMaster – is directly responsible to the office administration. He/She:Stands bridge watches to the requirements, the Safety Management System, the STCW and the Collision RegulationsEnsures that the ship’s navigational outfit including charts and nautical publications are fully correctedEnsures safe navigation and pilotingManages vessel administration/paperworkProtection of the environment, cargo, and environmentEnsures that safety exercises and drills are conducted seriously and beneficially by the entire ship’s company on a regular basis to the management’s requirementEnsures preparation for trip, load cargo and ship’s shoresStands watch while vessel is underway as required to reach destination safely and expeditiouslySupervises disposal and removal of waste materialEnsures the good condition and maintenance of all safety appliances and fittings throughout the shipEnsures all the basic and deck/engine department familiarization training and arranges the crew emergency demonstrations and exercisesManages the ship’s environmental programs – including the GARBAGE MANAGEMENT PLAN and the BALLAST WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN, Form VOY 4 – Ballast Water Management PlanEnsures the sound arrangements of all safety and other crew committee meetingsEnsures the effectiveness of shipboard discipline and the Safety Management SystemEnsures stability and hull stress controlEnsures protection to the environment, cargo and propertyConducts daily discussion with the Deck/Engine Department ensuring maintenance, upkeep of machinery and vessel readinessEnsures good condition and maintenance of mooring ropes and wires, all other lines cordage, running gear and lifting wires and ropes Ensures maintenance of steelwork and paintwork etc. on open decks and ship’s sides Ensures necessary routine maintenance, repairs, and handles ship’s business effectivelyEnsures the cleanliness and tidiness of the ship’s decks, accommodation alleyways, galley, cabins and machinery spacesOther duties as assignedRequirementsMust be a U.S. Citizen with a current and active US passportMust have Ocean Towing endorsement (Coastal water does not meet our requirements).Must have MMC with USCG endorsement of Master of Towing Motor propelled vessels unlimited, 1,600(GRT) upon OceansMust have a current USCG License for Master with required STCW endorsements Must meet the applicable statutory guidelines regarding credentials and eligibility to work criteriaValid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)Valid USCG STCW and National medicalsMinimum of 5 years’ experience as a MasterThorough knowledge of AHTS handling and navigational skillsProven Ocean Towage Experience Offshore & CoastwiseSalvage / Vessel emergency rescue experience is a strong plusExperience in laying and picking up mooring spreads is a strong plusWell versed with USCG/ABS/ISM/ISPS regulatory requirements as applicable to ocean-going tugsPossess strong written and oral communication skillsMust be a team player & leader with a positive attitude who takes pride in their workHas demonstrated the ability to cooperate and communicate well with coworkers, supervisors, and subordinatesHas strong attention to detail and is always performance and results driven to maintain vessels in full readiness for any emergency response requirement Be reliable and demonstrate good judgment and decision-making skillsApplicants to meet the physical demands while performing the tasks required for the daily vessel operations and navigation of the boat.
