CNC Mastercam Programmer
Job Title: CNC Programmer (SolidWorks & Mastercam)
Location: Livermore, CA
Pay Range: $40 – $55 per hour (DOE)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer with strong experience in SolidWorks and Mastercam to support the programming and production of precision components for CNC mills and lathes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly proficient in CAD/CAM software, and capable of working closely with machinists and engineers to ensure high-quality, efficient manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam for multi-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes
Interpret engineering drawings, models, and GD&T requirements
Create 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies to maximize efficiency and quality
Collaborate with machinists to troubleshoot and improve machining processes
Perform program prove-outs and make necessary adjustments on the shop floor
Ensure all programs meet quality standards, tolerances, and production timelines
Maintain organized documentation of programs, setups, and revisions
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cycle time, tooling, and process optimization
Qualifications:
3+ years of CNC programming experience for mills and lathes
Proficiency in Mastercam (required)
Strong experience with SolidWorks for modeling and design
Solid understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
Experience with multi-axis machining preferred
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with complex or tight-tolerance components
Knowledge of fixture design and process optimization
Familiarity with shop floor setup and operation
Work Environment:
Manufacturing/shop environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and metalworking processes
Collaborative team setting with engineers, machinists, and production staff
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive hourly pay: $40 – $55 per hour (based on experience)
