Database Applications Developer - II
Overview
As a NoSQL DBA, you will design, test, and optimize database ecosystems for IoT sensor networks. You will work within IT teams to ensure high performance, security, and recoverability across production databases. The role involves automation, proactive monitoring, and collaboration with engineers to implement fixes within SLAs. You’ll contribute to scalable data platforms that drive alerting, data storage, and analytics for industrial customers. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position at a company focused on low-power, wide-area networking for IoT.
ResponsibilitiesPlan, build, and deploy Python scripts to test and deploy NoSQL clusters and validate database performanceEnsure optimal database performance through proactive testing and real-time monitoringTroubleshoot issues to resolution and test database security per best practicesMonitor and maintain backups for production databases to ensure recoverabilityCoordinate with engineers/vendors to implement fixes within agreed SLAs
Key requirements3-5 years in NoSQL DBA with Cassandra, MongoDB, Couchbase, or Redis2+ years DBA experience in enterprise environments with 2-tier or 3-tier architectures2+ years Linux experience and ability to design high-performance environments2+ years scripting experience (Python, Shell)Strong organization, prioritization, and multi-project supportProficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPointRDBMS knowledge (MySQL, MariaDB, MemSQL, PostgreSQL) a plusstrong communication and interpersonal skillseffective problem-solving abilitiesability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detailNoSQL databases: Cassandra, MongoDB, Couchbase, RedisLinux operating systemPython and Shell scripting
