Job Title: ControllerReports To: Chief Executive OfficerLocation: Charlotte, NC (In Office) FLSA Status: ExemptCompany Overview The Controller will provide strategic financial leadership and operational oversight across a diversified portfolio of entities, including AquaShine, MyPediatricDoctor, QC Capital, and affiliated funds. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining compliance with GAAP, and driving scalable accounting processes across all business units.Position Summary The Controller will oversee full-cycle accounting operations and establish a robust financial infrastructure to support multi-entity operations. This individual will lead accounting functions, ensure timely and accurate reporting, and implement best-in-class internal controls. The role requires a detail-oriented, process-driven leader capable of managing multiple entities and complex financial structures.Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Oversight Lead and oversee full-cycle accounting operations across all entities and fundsEnsure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial transactions and reportingMaintain strict adherence to GAAP standards and regulatory requirementsDevelop, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsGeneral Ledger & Closer ProcessOversee general ledger maintenance and account reconciliationsManage and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesEnsure timely preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statementsAnalyze financial results and provide variance analysis and insights to leadershipAccounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Oversee all AP and AR functions, including invoice processing, collections, and vendor managementEstablish and enforce controls to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepanciesOptimize cash flow through effective receivables and payables managementSystem & Process ImplementationOwn the end-to-end design, implementation, and governance of all accounting systems, infrastructure, and workflows across entitiesArchitect and deploy a scalable accounting tech stack, including full ownership of QuickBooks configuration, chart of accounts design, and reporting frameworksEstablish standardized accounting processes and SOPs across all entities to ensure consistency, efficiency, and audit readinessBuild and document workflows across all core accounting cycles (order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, and treasury)Implement and enforce internal controls, approval hierarchies, and segregation of duties within systemsLead integrations between accounting platforms and operational systems (payroll, billing, banking) to ensure data integrity and automationEvaluate, select, and implement financial tools to support scalability (e.g., AP automation, expense management, reporting solutions)Develop automated reporting dashboards and financial packages for leadership visibility and decision supportDrive continuous process improvement and automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve accuracyServe as system owner and subject matter expert, including training, access management, and ongoing optimizationFund & Multi-Entity Accounting Oversee accounting for QC Capital and its investment funds, including capital calls, distributions, and investor reportingEnsure proper consolidation and intercompany accounting across all entitiesMaintain accurate financial records for each entity while ensuring consolidated reporting integrityCompliance & AuditEnsure full compliance with GAAP and all applicable financial regulationsCoordinate and manage external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reportingPrepare supporting documentation and schedules for auditors and tax professionalsBudgeting & ForecastingCollaborate with leadership to develop annual budgets and financial forecastsMonitor performance against budget and provide actionable insightsSupport strategic decision-making through financial modeling and analysisReporting Responsibilities Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packagesProduce quarterly financial statements and investor reportsOversee year-end close and preparation of annual financial statementsSupport tax preparation and filing processes in coordination with external partnersleadership & Team Management Build, mentor, and manage accounting staff as neededEstablish clear performance expectations and accountability standardsFoster a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvementQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership roleStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standardsExperience managing multi-entity and/or fund accounting structures preferredProficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting systemsAdvanced Excel and financial analysis skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent communication and leadership capabilitiesKey Competencies Strategic thinking and financial leadershipProcess optimization and systems implementationHigh level of integrity and accountabilityAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsThis role is critical to ensuring financial transparency, operational efficiency, and long-term scalability across all portfolio entities while maintaining strict adherence to GAAP compliance standards.
