This position will explore and prototype using a variety of AI and automation technologies to understand capabilities and fit for Brown's environment and business needs, establishing best practices for AI development in our newly created AI team. They will collaborate with the Director, AI and Business Enablement to translate complex business challenges to scalable technical architectures that align with University security and data standards.Education and ExperienceAssociate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred5-7 years of experience in solution architecture, software development, integration, business intelligence, or a related technical role2+ years hands-on experience with AI/ML technologies, particularly large language models, prompt engineering, and/or AI application development through project work, rapid prototyping, or self-directed technical developmentExperience designing, implementing, or administrating enterprise solutions, preferably in higher education or other complex organizational environments preferredExperience with agile development methodologies and iterative solution delivery preferredTechnical SkillsStrong understanding of AI/ML concepts, particularly large language models and prompt engineeringProficiency in at least one programming language (such as Python)Understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance considerations in AI applicationsExperience with API consumption and integration (such as REST APIs, JSON, and webhooks) preferredExperience with automation platforms and workflow tools preferred.
