We’re looking for top talent to grow with our firm.ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be challenged to do:This individual will provide Program Manager oversight duties for a Quality Assurance Program that consists of a daily material inspection placement process for HMA, PCC, and Aggregate/Soil materials, oversight of material inspection documentation and project closeout process, material inspection database, and project specification review and/or development. This candidate will be responsible for oversight and coordination of a Consultant Team to support the Local Agency QA Management Team in meeting overall goals and objectives on a large-scale QA Program.The candidate must be highly motivated and is expected to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as possess excellent organizational skills and a willingness to take on new challenges. The candidate should have the ability to apply a common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. The candidate would be expected to work occasional overtime to complete special tasks and meet program objectives.Primary Responsibilities (others may be included):Report to Senior Project Manager and/or the Owner’s QA Management Team to provide Program oversight support and associated project coordination on a large-scale QA ProgramThe position requires effective and efficient coordination abilities in dealing with Local Agency QA personnel, Resident Engineers, and ContractorsManaging and coordinating with internal staff and external consultant staff membersPreparation of technical reports and willing to participate, present and/or attend conferenceDevelopment and revision of technical construction or material specificationsQualificationsWhat you bring to our firm:Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited school or university.Minimum 15+ years of relevant construction management experienceFamiliarity with Project Procedures and Construction Plans and SpecificationsAbility to effectively manage and communicate with othersProficient with Microsoft Office suiteComfortable interacting in a calm and professional manner with agency representatives and construction personnel during difficult and intense situationsSelf-motivated, conscientious, and detail orientatedActively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.Actively advocates for full inclusion in the workplace, fostering an environment that welcomes diversity and values equity for all employees, partners, clients, and the communities that TranSystems serves.What we’d prefer for you to bring to our firm:Professional Engineer License20+ years of relevant construction experienceEffective critical thinker and comfortable with the development of new concepts or proceduresExperience working within a technical office or construction environment in HMA, PCC, and aggregate material testing and inspection as related to roadway constructionStrong understanding of project plans and specifications and capable of deciphering the order of precedence leading to a correct enforcement of the requirementsPreferred experience includes work on projects for CDOT, IDOT, ISTHA, and/or federally funded projects for municipalities or other local agenciesAdvanced Excel experience/capabilitiesLocal candidatesDriver’s LicenseFeatured Benefits:Hybrid (in-person and remote) work environment.Comprehensive health benefits package including wellness, maternity/paternity leave, and employer paid AD&D, STD, and LTD.401(k) company matchVacation accrual separate from sick time.Eleven (11) paid holidays for 2024 with the option to substitute 2 holidays for employees to celebrate other day(s) of significance.Six (6) day winter break in 2024 that is included in the paid holiday schedule.TranSystems is proud to be an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer and ensures nondiscrimination and equal employment opportunity in all programs and activities in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
