Position Type:Student Support Services/Professional Development/CoachDate Posted:5/20/2026Location:Covenant High School Grand Rapids(High-Needs School)District:Covenant House Academy Grand RapidsJob DescriptionPosition: Bilingual Paraprofessional & Community Liaison Reports to: Principal Salary Range: $40,000 - $48,000Some nights and weekends may be required, however mostly standard workdayGeneral Description: : Support teachers and students through tutoring, progress monitoring and instructional support. Connect with students, families and organizations in the local Hispanic community. Primary Responsibilities Assist with presentation of lessons related to the high school ELL curriculumProvide academic support to students individually and in small groupsAssist teachers and students to overcome language barriers in the classroomMaintain and record weekly engagements with assigned studentsSupport the teacher in maintaining a classroom environment that is safe, well-ordered and conducive to student learningCheck student progress and understanding frequently through curriculum monitoring, group discussions/activities, and 1-1 conversationsMeet with students regularly to discuss their goals, needs and academic progressCommunicate with parents and other family members regarding student progress, needs and concernsAssist in student recruitment and retention activities, especially in the Spanish-speaking communityProvide translation services for meetings between students, families and staffFollow additional directives and assignments given by the principalEssential Skills and AbilitiesFluency in written and oral SpanishA passion for serving at-risk youthA belief in setting high expectations for all studentsExcellent oral and written communication skillsHighly organizedConsistent follow-throughAbility to implement effective instructional strategiesProficient in computer applicationsQualificationsAssociate Degree (Bachelor's Degree Preferred)Satisfactory completion of criminal history checkYouth Vision Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
